How is the price reaction measured?
The close-to-close change on the first trading session that ended after the results were filed. Results filed after 3:30 pm count from the next session; results filed during market hours count from that day.
Why is profit growth sometimes huge?
Growth is measured against the same quarter a year earlier. If last year’s profit was tiny, even a normal profit shows as several hundred percent. A loss a year earlier gives no growth figure at all.
