Scorecard: did the list work?

Each day’s top 10 in this tab, checked against the next session. Stocks that moved 5%+ are named.

Not moved yet vs already moving

Most next-day big movers moved big today, but you can’t get in early on those. The Not moved yet tab keeps only stocks under 3% today: unusual volume with a quiet price moved 5%+ next day 10.4% of the time, and volatile stocks resting for a day 12.4%, against 4.9% for an average stock. Direction is close to even, so let the chart decide.

How the list is made

Every evening we score each listed NSE company that trades ₹5 crore or more a day on conditions that, over two years of daily data, came before 5%+ moves. The chance shown is how often stocks with a similar score really moved 5%+ the next day, in a period the model was never tuned on.

What raises the odds

A 10%+ move today (about 5× the usual chance), a naturally volatile stock (3×), a 5%+ move today (3×), volume 3× normal (2.3×) and a close above the 20-day high (1.6×). Big moves cluster, which is why the Already moving tab scores higher, but you are late to those.

What doesn’t (surprisingly)

Quiet, tight charts. NR7, inside bars, squeezes and tight bases moved 5%+ the next day less often than average. The quiet phase comes before many breakouts, but the trigger usually arrives during the day, which is when ChartMine’s 5-minute signal helps.

Up or down? Read the lean

The lean is measured, not guessed: high-scoring stocks that closed up at a 20-day high moved up 5%+ next day 9.3% of the time and down 5%+ 5.3%; stocks that fell 10%+ today moved down 5%+ 17.7% vs up 13.7%. It tilts the odds, it does not decide them, so let price action, your levels and your stop-loss decide.

Built from NSE’s end-of-day file for every listed stock (EQ series), updated each trading evening after about 7:45 PM IST. “Chance of a 5%+ move” is the share of stocks with a similar score that moved 5% or more the next session in a period the model was not tuned on; it is not a guarantee and does not say which direction. Prices are not adjusted for corporate actions. Information, not investment advice.

Questions

Which stocks will move big tomorrow?
No one can know for sure. This page ranks every liquid NSE stock by its measured chance of moving 5% or more in the next session. Over the last 30 sessions, about one in four of each day’s top 10 did, against about one in twenty for an average stock.
How is the chance of a 5%+ move calculated?
Stocks are scored on today’s move, volume, volatility and breakouts, using weights learned from 2024–2026 daily data. Each score band’s chance is the share of stocks in that band that actually moved 5%+ the next day during a later period the weights never saw.
Does a high score mean the stock will go up?
No. High scores mean a large move is more likely in either direction. The up and down split shown under each chance is the historical share for that score band.
When is the list updated?
Every trading evening after NSE publishes its end-of-day file, usually by 7:45 PM IST, for the next session.
Why are some small stocks missing?
Only listed companies (no ETFs or funds) with ₹5 crore or more average daily turnover and a price of ₹20 or more are included, so every name on the list can actually be traded without moving the price.
Are these stocks about to move or have they already moved?
Both, in separate tabs. Not moved yet lists stocks that moved less than 3% today but show unusual volume or are naturally volatile; about one in ten of the daily top 10 moved 5%+ next day. Already moving lists today’s big movers for traders who play the next-day swing; about one in four moved 5%+ again, either way.
