NR7 stocks for tomorrow. The breakout watchlist, every evening.

F&O stocks and indices whose high-to-low range today was the narrowest of the last seven sessions. Tight ranges often come before range expansion, so traders watch them for the next day’s breakout.

What is NR7?

NR7 means “narrow range 7”: today’s range (high minus low) is the smallest of the last seven trading days. It marks a quiet, coiled market.

NR7 with an inside bar

When the NR7 day is also an inside bar (its high and low sit inside the previous day’s), the range is even tighter. Toby Crabel’s NR7 work and the “NR7-ID” setup come from this idea.

How traders use it

Many mark the NR7 day’s high and low and watch for a break the next session, with the opposite side as the stop. A break can fail, so size the risk first.

End-of-day daily candles for NSE F&O stocks and major indices, adjusted for splits and bonuses, scanned after the close each trading day (by about 4:15 PM IST). A scan result is a setup to study, not a signal to trade. Information, not investment advice.

Questions

What are NR7 stocks?
NR7 stocks are stocks whose daily range (high minus low) was the narrowest of the last seven trading sessions. This page lists NSE F&O stocks and indices with an NR7 day, updated after every close.
When is the NR7 list updated?
Every trading day after the market closes, by about 4:15 PM IST, with the levels for the next trading day.
Is an NR7 stock a buy signal?
No. NR7 shows a narrow, quiet day that is often followed by a bigger move, but it does not tell the direction. Use it as a watchlist with your own analysis and risk management.
