What happened after extreme PCR readings

PCR above 1 means more puts than calls are open. Some traders read very high PCR as fear that has already been priced in, others as protection being bought.

Questions

What is PCR in options?
The put-call ratio (PCR) is the open interest of all put options divided by the open interest of all call options. A PCR of 1.2 means 1.2 puts are open for every call.
What does a high PCR mean?
More puts than calls are open. Put writers are often the larger side in index options, so many traders read a rising PCR as support building below the market; others read very high PCR as heavy hedging. It describes positioning, not direction.
Which PCR is shown here?
Two versions: across all expiries, and for the nearest expiry only. The nearest-expiry PCR swings more and resets every expiry.
How often is it updated?
Every trading evening from NSE’s F&O file.
