Questions
What is sector rotation?
Money moving from one group of stocks to another as the economy and market mood change. The rotation chart shows each sector’s strength against the average NSE stock and whether that strength is rising or fading.
How do I read the rotation chart?
Right of centre, the sector is beating the average NSE stock; above centre, that lead is growing. Sectors usually move clockwise: improving, leading, weakening, lagging. The trail shows the last six weeks.
Which sectors are leading now?
Leading this week: FMCG, Oil & gas, IT, Consumer durables, Media.
How are the sector indices made?
From NSE’s industry classification of the NIFTY Total Market stocks: each sector is the equal-weighted average daily move of its actively traded members, so a few giants do not dominate it.
